The grants were announced by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), as part of an ongoing funding program created by the General Assembly.

Mercuri expressed his gratitude to the first responders in the community, stating, "Our communities' first responders go above and beyond to risk their lives and sacrifice their time protecting our people. We owe them a debt of gratitude for always helping those in need. Thank you to all of the first responders, from our firefighters and paramedics to other emergency professionals around our area."
